Why is Justice blind? Is she impartial? Or is she blinkered?
Anika is an only child. She’s never given her parents a moment’s worry. But Anika wants what her parents’ generation had – to move out of home after school and travel. How far will she go to get what she wants?

Eighteen year old Anika has always been the model student – Debating Captain, Theatre Captain, and recipient of the prestigious Julia Gillard Award. As her high school years draw to a close, Anika faces the harsh reality of an unattainable future. She cannot afford to move out and travel as her parents did at her age.
Determined to create her own opportunities, she takes matters into her own hands and turns to an unconventional solution.
When traditional values clash with modern freedoms, Anika must navigate the complexities of autonomy, family expectations and societal norms. How far will she go to achieve her dreams? Is shame dead? Should it be?
Only Child is a humorous and provocative exploration of changing values, generational divides and the meaning of independence.
