Stonnington Jazz Festival 2018
GODTET + DJ Shio Otani + La Sape DJs
Every now and again something truly unique emerges. GODTET is the most exciting new act to emerge from Sydney’s jazz underground. The five-piece ensemble push the boundaries of improvised music within a framework of hip-hop, jazz, soul and psychedelia. Led by Godriguez, the producer and creative force behind Sampa The Great’s breakthrough release “The Great Mixtape”, the first run of GODTET’s debut LP sold out within weeks, becoming a cult record for Australian jazz vinyl collectors.
Featuring Tully Ryan on drums, Jan Bangma on bass, Andrew Bruce on keys, Dominic Kirk on percussion and David Rodriguez on guitar, witness GODTET perform the material from their self-titled album in entirety. The second half of the show will feature brand new material from the band’s forthcoming release.
