As 12-year-old Tomas finds himself trapped in a war zone and separated from his family, he takes refuge in a derelict house where he meets other child refugees. Every night as the bombs fall on the streets outside, they seek ways to distract themselves from the harsh realities surrounding them. And so, begins a journey into the shifting shimmering world of tales from other lands.
