The Bashevis Singers are an Australian, Melbourne based Yiddish Nu-folk trio. Husky Gawenda and his cousin Gideon Preiss are renowned Australian musicians and award winning songwriters. They are the core members of the band HUSKY. Husky’s sister (and Gideon’s cousin) Evie Gawenda, is a singer and award-winning theatre director who is known and loved for the beauty and warmth of her voice.

This will be a night of time travel, of joy and sadness and everything in-between, as they present their new album ‘Songs to Infinity’ with a band, string quartet, and their voices in harmony always at the centre.

‘This music seems simple at first – lullabies and love songs, laments and dances – but it is drawn from such a deep past and refreshed by such vocal purity and sophisticated playing that it grows richer and more enchanting with every hearing.’ Helen Garner (novelist)
