After a sellout season for her last play, The Cost of Living is a new, one act comedy drama from Leah Annetta, teaming again with director Tim Schwerdt and designer Emma Ingles.
A family meeting is called. Is it the announcement of the much-longed-for first grandchild? Sort of. Maybe. It depends.
Hugo and Angela have finally decided they want a child. What they don’t want is to sacrifice their careers or their quality of life. They approach their parents with a proposition – one that jeopardises their plans for retirement and exposes the difference in everyone’s values and priorities.
You can’t choose your family, but who gets to decide if the next generation will get to exist… at all?
