Get ready for an unforgettable evening of vintage cinema and live jazz as The Sounds of Silent brings the magic of the 1920s back to life.
Sherlock Jr. (1924) is one of Buster Keaton’s most iconic and side-splitting films – packed with dazzling stunts, clever storytelling and nonstop slapstick comedy.
Recognised as one of Keaton’s finest works, it’s a true classic of the silent film era. Accompanied live by The Sounds of Silent – a dynamic five-piece band made up of Melbourne’s top jazz talents – this show recreates the golden age of silent film screenings where live bands brought movies to life in theatres across Victoria.
Expect high-energy, improvised 1920s-style jazz that keeps pace with Keaton’s fast-moving antics and cinematic brilliance.
But that’s not all…
Also featuring the brilliant Laurel & Hardy short film Liberty (1929) – a comedy gem full of clever gags and classic chaos.
This is a one-of-a-kind experience perfect for all ages. Whether you’re a film buff, a music lover or just looking for a night of laughter and nostalgia, The Sounds of Silent deliver a performance you’ll never forget.
Don’t miss this chance to relive the roaring ’20s – live, loud and absolutely unforgettable!
