A Glimpse Behind Closed Doors


Stonnington Jazz Festival 2018

Breathtakingly beautiful and athletic contemporary dance, collides with innovative and virtuosic jazz. Queensland’s premier contemporary dance theatre company Expressions, unites with the award-winning jazz ensemble Trichotomy to present a thought-provoking collaboration that revels in the darkness, playfulness and fragility of the human condition.

The first act features a suite of exciting improvisations and compositions showcasing Trichotomy’s delicate atmospherics and unique fusion of modern jazz; ambient music; avant-garde rock; free jazz and contemporary classical music. The second movement showcases Natalie Weir’s incredible choreography, with pieces from their ‘Behind Closed Doors’ production; re-worked exclusively for Stonnington Jazz.
