Set in the 1960s, Roaring is about the raw, devastating life of Vera – a waitress desperate for fame, who continuously fails countless auditions, until one day she stumbles upon the casino Roaring, which changes her life. She then meets Johnny, the casino owner, involved in gangs, violence and the obsession of money. Johnny doesn’t understand how bad his dangerous mind really is.
The play explores the differing worlds of the two characters and the unlikely romance that blossoms. It all changes the day Vera is subjected to the side of him she thought she had changed.
The play begins with the ending scene, rewinding and backtracking their stories.
