Collingwood Captain

Shawry is the iconic Collingwood figure who led the Collingwood Football Club to victory in the 1990 Grand Final – a victory that came after 32 years of loss and heartbreak for the club.

Winning the Norm Smith medal on the day, and the veteran of over 300 games, Tony Shaw was the greatest captain Collingwood ever had. A small man with a big heart.

Featuring Sadie, the ubiquitous Collingwood supporter who lives and breathes The Magpies, this is a story about Tony Shaw; a comedy, a tragedy, a drama and a trip down memory lane. An historical play that will make people laugh and cry.

This play is written by multi award winning playwright Neil Cole. Starring Anthea Davis and Mike Newman. Directed by Sean Paisley Collins. Simon Madden of Essendon Football Club is Executive Producer.
